Music in Y3
In Year 3 we aim to give children the power to express the inexpressible, foster imagination and ignite a lifetime of passion for music.
Session 1
Our aims of this session were to develop an understanding of the history in music and to use musical vocabulary to describe what we like and don't like about a piece of music.
Here are our pieces of music that we compared and appraised.
Renaissance period - La Morisque & Danse Basse Bergeret aus der Danserye-Suite - Tylman Susato
Safaa - 'I liked the instruments they used and find it calming'
Irza - 'I like how to music changed but they didn't stop playing their instruments'
Ruqayyah - 'I didn't really like the piece because there wasn't any singing'
Tobias - 'I heard the trumpet'
Aria - 'I heard the French horn'
Soul classic - "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" Lyric
Aiza - 'I thought the piece would make me feel sad but it didn't'
Zahra - 'I felt happy listening to the song'
Kehkashan - 'The instruments played are different to the Renaissance piece'
Ayaat - 'In this song there is someone singing but it was only instruments in the other piece'
Session 2 and 3
Our aims for this session were to use musical vocabulary to describe a piece of music and compositions.
Using a variety of musical instruments we leant and practiced our musical vocabulary.
