Our text for this half term is Oliver Twist.
Maths
This half term, we will be starting with Place Value, specifically focusing on rounding numbers up to 1,000,000.
So far, we have been learning how to round numbers up to 1,000,000 to the nearest 100,000. Have a look at some of our work below!

The second part of the half term, we have been focusing on the four operations.
Science
This half term, we will be learning about materials.
I know how to compare and group materials based on their properties
First, we completed a knowledge harvest to show what we already knew. Then, we looked at vocabulary related to the properties of materials and matched each word to its definition. We discussed which objects might have these properties and why.
We investigated the idea that different materials have different properties. Working in groups, we tested a range of materials and sorted them according to their properties, such as permeability, transparency, flexibility, hardness, translucency, and magnetism. After completing our tests, we came back together as a class to share our findings and compare our results.
