Pumpkin Exploration
Reception have been exploring pumpkins! We have learnt about how and where they grow, looked at different sized pumpkins and found out that they are not just for decoration but are delicious to eat! We baked a yummy pumpkin cake!
The Leaf Thief
We have been finding out about the animals in this book, where they live, how they make their home and what they eat.
We know that a squirrel likes to make a nest in a tree, this is called a drey. We have been exploring the materials a squirrel would use to make its nest.

Here are some of our drawings of the nests we think a squirrel will live.
I am an Artist
We have been finding out what an artist is and how we can be artists too. We used the work of artist Kandinsky to inspire us.
Check out our amazing work.

We were excited to start using our self serve paint bottles and explore colour mixing.

Hedgehog visit
We were lucky enough for a lady who rescues hedgehogs to come and visit us. We learnt some really interesting facts about hedgehogs and we even got to stroke one, it was so spikey!

Mapping skills
We used our understanding of the world skills to follow a map to the forest. We recognised key places on the map.

4 and 5
Check out our amazing Maths learning this half term!

Winters coming
The children were fascinated to discover the water in the tuff tray had frozen over night. We discussed how ice appears, what it feels like and we predicted what is going to happen to the ice.
