We were excited to receive a letter from a winter Gonk.

The Gonks sent us a poem to learn. We learnt lots of new words.

Winter Time Poem – Mary Ryer

Icy fingers, icy toes,

Bright red cheeks and a bright red nose.

Watch the snowflakes as they fall,

Try so hard to count them all.

Build a snowman way up high,

See if he can touch the sky.

Snow forts, snowballs, angels, too,

In the snow, so white and new.

Slip and slide and skate so fast.

Wintertime is here at last.

This week, we’ve been exploring ice! We discovered how ice forms and what makes it melt. We even made our own ice by freezing water and watched it melt when we brought it into our warm classroom. It was so exciting to see science in action!

The Way Back Home.

We looked at the front cover of the book and talked about what we notice.

“There’s the moon, it’s a crescent moon.” Dawud

“Look at the bottom, there’s houses.” Miles

You can listen to the story here.

We have used junk modelling boxes to build out own rockets, spaceships and aeroplanes.

We discovered some unusual, green, slimy fingerprints in our classroom!

We investigated what it could have been.

We read a story called 'Look Up' about a girl who wanted to be an astronaut - we found out more about what this means.
