English
During this half term, we have been studying the book 'Curiosity'. We have explored the journey of the Mars rover as it made it's way from creation to landing on Mars.
We have used our English skills to write a space themed story inspired by our learning!
Maths
During this half term, we have completed our final learning for place value and addition and subtraction.
We have focussed on:
- rounding
- negative numbers
- roman numerals
- column subtraction
- multi-step problems
We are very pleased to announce that we have all made some amazing progress from starting each unit back in Autumn 1 to now! We can't wait to show you our learning when we get our books in the summer.
Science
During our Science unit this half term, we are learning about Space!
We have learned about:
- the order of the planets in our solar system
- the orbits and rotations of each planet
- The movement of the moon across the sky
We also used some of our time to create a non-chronological report about our favourite chosen planet.
History
In our history lessons, we focussed on the historical timeline of space travel and learnt about the Apollo 11 mission.
We also explored Tim Peake and his contributions to space travel.
