The Department for Education, Letters and Sounds Phonics programme will upload a new phonics lesson every day from Monday to Friday from Monday 27 April.
*After each upload the lesson will then be available to watch at any time.
10am: For children who can confidently blend and read words such as ‘fish’ ‘chat’ and ‘rain’.
10.30am: For children who can confidently read words such as ‘chair’, ‘stamp’, ‘snake’ and ‘heap’.
Here are a few links to help you practice your phase 5 phonics.
Ways to use phonics at home;
- Print the flash cards and place them on an object that uses that phoneme.
- Hide and then find the phonemes.
You could choose a set of spellings to practice each week, and maybe even have a mini spelling test on a Friday!

Remember to take time to read once a day, you can all now access Rising Stars online to read as much as you like.
